Konami Thinking About Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker On PS3
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker looks to be a big hit for the PSP handheld, but Konami is already looking into the possibility of offering an online-enabled PlayStation Network version of the game. A release on the digital platform would enable friends to play co-op missions over the internet.

Hints were dropped when GamePro contributors were faced with a Q&A session, in which one of the questions asked was about their interest in Peace Walker if a PS3 version existed with online capabilities.

"While it's not uncommon for a developer to ask journalists these focus-group questions, it is interesting to note that the Konami representative asking the questions actually wrote down the answers," writes GamePro.

Maybe this is Kojima's idea of making PSP games a bit more profitable in the West, where rampant piracy has all but killed third party (and even most first party) support for the platform. It's a slightly different story in Japan, where consumers actually buy the latest handheld releases in their droves. We remember when people used to buy things here, too.
