Nintendo today emailed us, confirming our attendance at the Nintendo Show (ha ha!), which takes place next week in happy, friendly London.

The release reads: “Nintendo are proud to reveal a few of the software highlights that will be making their way to Westminster with the Nintendo GameCube. For the very first time in Europe, and only at the Nintendo Show, visitors will be able to test-run Luigi’s Mansion, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Wave Race: Blue Storm, Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet and several others on Nintendo GameCube.”

Nothing new in the confirmed games list, but that doesn’t mean that we are not in for a few surprises. “Several others” sounds intriguing but not earth shattering. We expect that this simply means a chunk of third party titles for GameCube. Not the killer unseen titles we have all been hoping for.

It is almost certain that SpaceWorld will feature a new Nintendo first party game of some sort. Mario, Zelda and Metroid are all queuing up to make a GameCube appearance. It is looking likely that, true to form, Nintendo will keep all the best stuff over in Japan.

Nintendo is also gearing up the Game Boy Advance for your previewing pleasure. Nintendo’s mail went on: “Headlining at the Nintendo Show will be the fastest ever-selling console on the planet - Game Boy Advance, and with it, its showcase of software for 2001 – 2002. Titles such as Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Wario Land 4, and other previously unseen titles will be premiered at The Nintendo Show gameplay sessions. And you can expect some major Pokemon announcements.”

That’s more like it! Major Pokemon announcements sound good to us. Perhaps you plucky Euro Poke-maniacs will be treated to the new Game Boy Advance instalment of the phenomenal series. The title is, without doubt, in the making at Game Freak and Nintendo.

We will be stalking the floors at the Nintendo Show, being your eyes, ears and ‘free-stuff-acquirers’. We will bring you a full update as it happens.
