Activision has confirmed a restructuring of its UK operations, along with job losses expected in the IT marketing departments. Some of its European publishing arms will also be making similar cuts.
The company revealed the move in a statement to GI (via VG247). "We are realigning our structure to better reflect our slate and the market opportunities in Europe as well as directing our resources against the largest and most profitable business segments," it said.
"Like any successful business, Activision Publishing consistently works to align its costs with its revenues – this is on ongoing process."
Job losses are unwelcome for any company, although one would have to wonder the reasoning behind Activision's restructuring, given that the company continues to print money with Modern Warfare 2. We hope the impact of the cuts won't be too severe.
