War games seem to be as popular as they've always been, with DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 taking the top spot in this week's UK chart, courtesy of GfK Chart Track. The shooter has become the fastest selling game of the year so far, and has done so well it's even outsold the original Bad Company by a ratio of nearly 3 to 1.Week 9 2010 - UK Game ChartsPrevious week in (). Ubisoft's
Just Dance body pumps its way back into second place despite a sales drop of 15% over the last week - previous #1
Heavy Rain (-69%) fell to fourth position and
Aliens Vs Predator (-61%) slipped down to third.
SEGA's mascot racer,
Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing (+28%), gets a speed up item and boosts a few places to #5. A good thing too, as the
game is actually pretty good.
Other than that, it's the usual shuffle of last year's favourites -
Modern Warfare 2 (-11%) moved down to 7th,
Wii Fit Plus (-5%) is getting lax at 6th and
Wii Sports Resort (-15%) dropped to 8th.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii had a pretty big drop in sales (-41%), clinging onto #10, but the biggest change has to be
Assassin's Creed II (+73%) thanks to the release of the PC version. Ezio's adventure leaps from #31 to #14.
The only other new entry in this week's chart is
Supreme Commander 2 on PC; it sits at #23.
