So, how's Lost Planet 2 coming along? Pretty well, according to Capcom - if you don't mind getting much of the intended material as downloadable content. Producer Jun Takeuchi told Japanese magazine Famitsu that the team 'wept' as they had to keep "cutting out content"."We included a lot in this release, and by the end it became a battle with the disc capacity," Takeuchi explains (via
Sankaku Complex - careful, the site's NSFW), referring to the Xbox 360 version's DVD capability. "That stuff might be available as DLC in the future - look forward to it."
His comments are similar to those made in previous interviews about
Resident Evil 5 - a game which ended up causing controversy by offering a multiplayer mode as paid-for DLC. It seems the same situation may arise for
Lost Planet 2 - in the Famitsu interview, Takeuchi further complains about Microsoft's "refusal to employ Blu-ray" media.
But don't think Capcom will be rubbing its collective hands with glee at the potential DLC goldmine that lays ahead of it; "Truly, we were weeping as we were forced to cut stuff," Takeuchi laments.
