Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase fielded fan questions on the official PlayStation website today, and has said the Square Enix team is interested in exploring 3D technology for the upcoming RPG.When asked whether he would consider releasing
FFXIII in 3D, Kitase said “We don't know how possible it is to build the game in 3D but we are interested in it. In fact, we have already created a 3D
Final Fantasy XIII trailer, which is currently showing in Japanese cinemas alongside the film Avatar.”
It was noted that the 3D trailer is only available in Japan, but showing it overseas might be a possibility in the future. Should Square Enix decide to go for 3D in
Final Fantasy XIII, it would supposedly take nothing more than a patch for the PlayStation 3 version to implement into existing copies – of course, there's always the possibility of the publisher releasing a separate version for megabucks however.
Other questions asked from European
Final Fantasy aficionados included data installs and whether Kitase prefers Chocobos or 'Moggles' (we think the writer meant to type 'Moogles' here). Read the rest of the interview
here, but just so you know – Kitase prefers Chocobos.
