For those of you worrying about whether No More Heroes 2 will ever be released in Europe, have no fear! Rising Star Games has announced that it will publish the Wii-exclusive hack-and-slasher at the end of April. The sequel promises to be more blood-thirsty than its predecessor, with Travis Touchdown and his beamsword fighting his way to the top of the United Assassins Association tree once more as he find himself in a lowly 51st position. Travis also has a penchant for revenge this time, following the murder of his best friend.
Apparently
No More Heroes 2 is the game that developer (
and David Lynch fan) Suda 51 has always wanted to make. We thoroughly enjoyed the original, but got a bit bored of the wonky open-world areas, something that Grasshopper Manufacture has taken on board and sought to fix in the sequel.
“The first
No More Heroes game fast built a reputation as a benchmark in the Wii's capabilities, and was brave and bold enough to stand out from the crowd as an antidote to the glut of party games one the market for the console,” says Martin Defries, who's the managing director of Rising Star Games, don't you know. He's understandably pleased and happy about this game 'going forward', maybe.
“It was one of the few games on the Wii that truly deserved the undivided attention of gamers across all formats and
No More Heroes 2 promises to take this to the next level.”
