It's not all bad news for Ubisoft this week. Despite this company's disappointing third-quarter, it can be happy that Assassin's Creed II has shipped eight million units worldwide.

The news comes nearly three months after the game's release in November, which launched to rave reviews and sales of 1.6 million units in its first week. During a conference call, CEO Yves Guillemot revealed more about the planned expansion for Assassin's Creed II - it features a new mission situated in Rome, along with an introduction of a multiplayer mode – a first for the series.

“[The expansion] marks the return of the legendary Ezio. But this time, he will strike directly at the heart of the Templar Order in Rome” Guillemot said. “In addition to this full new adventure, players will be able to challenge their friends in a very innovative assassination multiplayer.”

Sounds like a great way of sustaining interest in the title, but are we still stealth-killing in Italy? Change of scenery might be nice for a future title. We'd rather like Paris.
