Warioland Advance GBA screenshot bonanza!

Evil old Wario back up to his old tricks. We love the to hate him. Except in Mario Kart when we just hate him

Nintendo of Japan has released a plethora of screens from its highly anticipated Game Boy Advance platform title Warioland Advance: Yoki’s Treasure.

In this, the fourth installment of Wario, the evil old Mario nemesis is up to his old trick again and has set his heart on stealing the treasure hidden inside the legendary Yoki peoples’ pyramid.

Wario will, as ever, be able to imbue himself with a multitude of special abilities to help him achieve his goal. By touching the poison ivy Wario’s face swells up enabling him to float up and across to previously inaccessible places where as touching ice turns him into a rolling snowball.

This new Wario title will be welcomed for the throngs of Game Boy Advance owners who have been starved of a decent platform game since the consoles launch. Super Mario Bros Advance, a slightly upgraded version of Super Mario Bros 2 for the NES came as something of a disappointment. Mario 2 was, rightly, regarded by almost everyone as the worst game in the series. The only Mario Bros Game not to have had the involvement of Miyamoto, it was a version of the Japan only platformer Yumekojo Doki Doki Panic that had been retro-fitted with the Mario cast for the American and European markets.

A high-end original platform title will be well received.

Due out in Japan on August 21st, Expect Wario to hit our shores sometime before Christmas this year.
