Keith Vaz's Region Got Zero Video Gaming Funding
Okay, so just how much does the UK government want to retain one of the growth industries in this and any economic climate? Speaking on behalf of the Minister of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, Rosie Winterton (Doncaster Central, Labour) gave Parliament the following breakdown of numbers.

The following table shows how much has been invested by each RDA (Regional Development Agency) in projects specifically aimed at the video game industry:

East Midlands Development Agency: £0.00
South West of England DA: £0.00k
South East Development Agency: £58k
North West Development Agency: £135k
East of England Development Agency: £288k
London Development Agency: £250k
Yorkshire Forward: £195k
Advance West Midlands: £729k
One North East: £931k

Yes, you really would not want to work in the East Midlands - where Mr Vaz's Leicester East constituency is located. Not, of course, that Mr Vaz is on the board of the EMDA... but this is fascinating.
