Race of Champions first screens!

The story of fast cars, Lanzarote and a big fat white man

The Canary Islands, land of cheap drinks and electronic equipment, endless arcade machines and imported beaches. The Brits discovered the pleasures of this little sun drenched haven off the West African coast in the eighties but there is a lot more to the place than meets the eye.

As well as a Mayan-Egyptian pyramid link and housing several secret bases for high ranking Nazi officers during World War 2, a Rally event has been held there for the past few decades. Known as the Race of Champions and sponsored by Michelin, Activision has snapped up the license for the event, and created Race of Champion for PlayStation 2.

The game will include licensed cars from 24 rally car manufacturers and will all be set on authentic Race of Champions routes. You may even recognize the scenery from the camel safari you went on during your 1994 holiday to Lanzarote!

Developed by Climax, Race of Champions is likely to go head to head with Colin McRae for the Christmas Rally game top spot this year.
