Michael Pachter has once again predicted the arrival of Wii HD, suggesting it will come this year. He also reckons that we'll get a motion-sensing DS pretty soon - probably this Autumn.Asked by
Industry Gamers what he thinks the biggest surprise of this year will be, the Wedbush Morgan analyst said, "I think the biggest surprise will be the introduction of the Wii HD."
That's despite Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime
saying last year, "I don’t know how forcefully we can say that there is no Wii HD. Michael continues to be the only one that believes this is going to happen."
On a motion-sensing DS, Pachter uttered, "It’s unlike Nintendo to go this long without a gameplay innovation, and my guess is that they have something planned for launch within the next 12 – 18 months. A motion sensing DS is quite logical, given the success of the iPod Touch as a gaming device. I presume that they will give us something with the memory and controls of a DS and the fun motion sensing chip included in the iPod Touch, and assume it is for launch in the fall."
That's despite Nintendo
quashing recent rumours of such a system that stemmed from an interview with Ninty president Satoru Iwata.
