Finally, there's official word from publishers about their Natal plans. We were starting to get a bit worried. Capcom is one of the first companies to break silence on the Xbox 360 peripheral, with word that an old franchise will be resurrected for motion control.VP of strategic planning and business development, Christian Svensson, told G4 that they couldn't reveal anything beyond the fact that such a project exists, but emphasises that the game is not an existing game with 'body waggle' tacked on.
“I think you'll see again a brand focus on what we're doing [on Natal], perhaps a brand we haven't seen in a while,” Svensson revealed. “How do I describe this... it's created from the ground up. We're not looking at Natal as 'okay, here's a little Natal gimmick that we've worked into some existing game.'”
Capcom is jumping into bed early with motion control tech, with the company already retro-fitting
Resident Evil 5 for compatibility with Sony's PlayStation 3 Motion Controller. The Natal offering is somewhat more curious.
We'll let you know if more details appear on this. Suggest some old Capcom franchises that could do with some motion control revival in the forums below.
