EA: Dice Can Roll Over Call of Duty

Battlefield Bad Company 2 for the apparent win.

Following its statement last year that Medal of Honor's reboot multiplayer will kick Call of Duty, EA is now saying that Battlefield: Bad Company 2 as its "first" attack on Activision's game.

Speaking to MCV, EA Europe’s senior VP Jens Uwe Intat says, "In March we will launch Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is our first strong attack on Call of Duty."

You've got to figure that he's talking for stockholder's ears... especially when he says, "The shooter space is one we don’t want to give up. It’s an important genre and we were the number one."

Yup, not straightforward "shooter games" but oh-so-BS, "shooter space". There's more.

"So we are certainly working on how we can get that crown back and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an important product in that context. The franchise is strong, with a good product record. If any of our studios can take on Modern Warfare then it’s DICE."

We'd yell "Fight!" or something, but frankly we just hope that all the games are good.

Bad Company was amazingly overlooked by a lot of people, for it is IMO, what MW2 should be. Multiplayer is outstanding fun on Live, that everyone, not matter how good or bad is left out, or felt to be a newb. Between BC2 and the new MoH, EA have a very good chance.

Looking forward to BC2 in March. With Bioshock 2, AvsP and BC2, I think I'm going to be okay for a while.
