Not a lot of change in the software charts for Japan this week (28th December 2009 - 3rd January 2010), for the only differences in the Top 10 involve a shuffle of a few Nintendo titles and the re-emergence of Phantasy Star Portable 2.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii still reigns with over 268,000 units sold, but generally sales are down across the board expected, considering it's the first week after the Winter holidays. The Nintendo DS' own Tamagotch-Mii, Tomodachi Collection, is still riding high in the charts nearly six months after its release. It switches places with The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks for second place, with Link's new adventure dropping to #3.
Wii Fit Plus and Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver also trade positions to become 5th and 6th respectively. Crazy drumming game Taiko no Tatsujin Wii 2 is bumped out of the Top 10 to land the 11th spot with Sega's handheld dungeon crawler levelling up to #9.
