New Super Mario Bros. Wii tops the official Japanese charts right now, in Media Create's ranking from the 7th - 13th December 2009. But with Final Fantasy XIII selling over one million copies last Thursday, we can expect that to change dramatically when the charts update in a few days. For now though, Nintendo is sitting pretty with over 430,000 copies of its latest Mario adventure sold. New Namco Bandai RPG
Tales of Graces jumps into second place after selling a respectable 143,215 units.
In big news for fans of Western games, it seems that Infinity Ward's
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has done exceptionally well in the Japanese market, hitting #4 on the software charts and only 8K away from selling 100,000 copies. The game was published by Square Enix in Japan, not Activision, which explains the higher profile the war game has enjoyed.
Yet another
Naruto game rounds up the new releases hitting the Top 10. The latest
Pokemon games have had a shot in the arm, rising a couple of positions from last week, and that
Tomodachi Collection will just not die! It charts at #3 this week. Clearly Japanese people love their Miis.
