The UK Charts are in for the week thanks to GfK Chart-Track, and all signs show no stopping of Modern Warfare 2, which despite an 11% decline in sales from last week is sitting at #1 for the fifth week running. Activision’s war game is a hot contender for the Christmas #1.Hot on its tail this week however is
Wii Sports Resort, which has shot up from 5th place to 2nd and gained 17% in sales.
Assassin’s Creed II hangs tight in third, with fewer games being sold (-3%). Like its sporty brother,
Wii Fit Plus (+11%) is having something of a resurgence to #4 - the shake-up tackles
FIFA 10 (-15%) to fifth position.
Once on top of the world,
New Super Mario Bros. Wii (-5%) is sliding down the charts to #6, but other titles he’s featuring in are holding their own, with
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (+15%) and
Mario Kart Wii (+18%) at 7 and 10 respectively. Microsoft’s
Forza Motorsport 3 sticks to ninth but gains 15% in sales.
The big surprise is Ubisoft’s
Just Dance, which hits #8 but came all the way from position 30! The jump represents an astronomical 274% increase in sales. Lord knows the reasoning for it all - perhaps worries of dancing like a pro at the office Christmas party is encouraging all the sales.
Next week we should have the results of the Christmas #1. Who’s taking bets?
