The Nintendo DS has knocked the PS2 down a peg to become the best-selling games console in the UK ever.10.05 million of the handhelds have been sold to date - beating the PS2's 10.02 million - Chart-Track has
revealed. The DS actually surpassed the PS2 back in week 47, which (for those not versed in retail-speak) was the one starting November 22nd.
The DS has been on sale in the UK for four years, compared to the PS2's nine years of availability.
If you like a bit of granularity with your numbers - the DS has sold at a rate of 5,700 units a day. Nearly one in six people in the UK owns one.
Over on the home console front, it was
revealed last week that six million Wiis have been sold since launch.
