Konami has exclusively revealed to us the UK release date for its horrible new survival horror head-wrecker, Silent Hill 2.
November 2nd 2001 will be the day that parents enter little Timmy’s bedroom to see a character on screen, fumbling around a gore-soaked padded cell in an abandoned mental institute whilst fending off deformed nurse monsters. It is then that parents will finally realise that videogames are a good thing. Yeah right!
On a serious note, Silent Hill is a killer app in stealth mode. If you have ever enjoyed a horror movie in any capacity, this game will not disappoint. It is disgusting without being crude, frightening without being cliched, intelligently designed, and in no way seems juvenile.
Silent Hill on the PlayStation was an excellent game and is held in the highest regard by everyone who has played it. When two people who have experienced it realise that the other has played the game, it’s likely that a conversation will follow which is always a mixture of praise and that ‘hairs on your forearm standing on end’ feeling, as playing experiences of Silent Hill are recounted.
It looks as though Silent Hill 2 will have the level of technical prowess and mass marketing to ensure it becomes the hit it deserves to be.
