Retro Sonic Game Compilation Heading For DS
Those who are pining for a bit of Sonic the Hedgehog love next year will be pleased to know that a new compilation of classic Mega Drive titles will be hitting the Nintendo DS next year. Sonic Classic Collection was announced yesterday via SEGA’s Community Blog, and includes four 16-bit games to get your portable spindash on.

Games included are Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles. Lock-on technology is said to be present in this collection, which will allow players to experience the complete Sonic 3 & Knuckles saga from beginning to end.

Interestingly, the press release mentions some unique features for the DS, including a “save anywhere” functionality that will pause your game from any point so you can return to it later. A hoard of videos and other collectibles will also be included.

Sonic Classic Collection’s heading for a Spring 2010 release date.

These games, although they're good, severely need a remake, not a port. They feel so old now...
