Speaking about when we'll see PSPGo sales 'begin to overtake the PSP 3000 sales', Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's president and CEO, Andrew House, has said, "I don't think I'd hazard a guess at this point, but it may be a while."Don't expect House to place any blame for that on the fact that some retailers have opted not to stock it, though. "There's been sufficient distribution for the product at retail for consumers to be able to find it where they need to - I don't think that's particularly been part of the challenge", House said about certain retailers not carrying the product.
Is price a factor though? Oh yes. "In some senses, if the question comes down to consumer pricing, it's the same argument we've often had around PS3: If we are able to deliver something at a cheaper price, would we see a much swifter uptake in the marketplace? Quite probably", House said.
"But we're in a responsible business mould and we have to put products out there at the price that we think they're worth", he went on. Perhaps there's a first year economics undergrad out there somewhere who wants to point out to him that things are worth what people are prepared to pay for them, not what the seller would like to charge?
