Got your bets on for the Xmas Number 1? Well, think again because MTV and EA are getting a huge, vast, monumental marketing campaign together to try and shift all those copies of The Beatles: Rock Band off the shelves.
Here's the spin underlying the effort to 'please God sell the game!': "Celebrating the massive development effort behind The Beatles: Rock Band, VH1 has created a special look at how the game was created, including never-before-seen footage of Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr at Abbey Road Studios being presented with work in progress by the Harmonix creative team."
It's a celebration! But there's more...
As ever, someone is excited, this time it's Paul DeGooyer, Senior Vice President of Electronic Games and Music for the MTV Networks Music Group. He says "We are also very excited that VH1 documented the making of The Beatles: Rock Band."
But come on, let's get down to brass tacks. As The Beatles once famously said on their famous song, the famous Money (That's What I Want)*: 'The best things in life are free but you can save them for the birds and bees, I want money". So, what's the real score here?
