UPDATE: Some UK Gamers Getting Pre-Ordered Modern Warfare 2 Early

According to pic and post

The excitement regarding the launch of Modern Warfare 2 on Monday night/Tuesday morning appears to have got to at least one retailer. Posters over at Avforum have apparently been delighted to receive their games early.

One such poster, DarthyBaby, has even posted up the picture you can see here. Another called MANGABOY states, "Installing it to my hard drive as we speak".

We understand that these claims actually stand up.

UPDATE:
MCV has received a statement from The Hut which reads as follows: "
"We are dedicated to getting products to customers on release.

"We use Royal Mail as our preferred courier and were advised to dispatch on Thursday for delivery on Tuesday due to the impending strike action."

MCV also cites the fact that, "GAME and Gamestation staff have been told they are not allowed to take home early copies or even play the game behind closed doors in stores."

Good for you. Whether it will make any difference or not, it's good to see that people can pass on one FPS if they see it risks an extra £5 for every game from then on. I'm passing on this one too.

I dont see the point of boycotting and getting angry at these games!

They are going to sell upwards of 15 million copies or however many they sold of halo 3 etc no matter what. Your single boycott and the others (which will prob make up a few thousand tops) are not going to affect their bank balance in the slightest.

I know its probably politicaly incorrect and breeds a slight hightened sense of xenophobia, but I am smart enough to see past that and see that it is only a game, of which the last installment absolutely ruled. And I am going to buy it and enjoy it, and I'm 100% certain its going to make up for its extra £5 that I pay for it.

I got mine today from GAME, and I must say it is spectacular. The campaign is extremly impressive, as well as multiplayer. Haven't been off it all day!
