Rumour (and speculation) has had for some time that
Okamiden will be the new
Okami. For once, it turns out to be true.
Okamiden: Chisaki Taiyou is its full name and it is indeed the follow-up to the PS2 game (and Wii remake) beloved of anybody with a soul.
Only it's not on Playstation (or PlayStation) it's on the DS; this has apparently caused much whinging.
Famitsu has pointed out that it comes with a new main, lupine character called Chibiterasu.
1Up states that "The
Okamiden project is being handled by a Capcom internal staff led by producer Motohide Eshiro (
Ace Attorney) and director Kuniomi Matsushita, who worked on the
Dino Crisis games and directed the group that ported the original Okami to the Wii last year."
There are already cries of delight from one side of the office, while another provides cursing about a lack of console version.
