According to Rare's design director, George Andreas, the tools in
Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts are unmatched anywhere in gaming.
Anywhere.
"Where is there a game in the industry today where you can build virtually anything, I mean literally anything, with a tool set that is as robust and as fun to use as that?" he said to
videogamer.
Well, Media Molecule might put up its hand and say 'in
LittleBigPlanet!'.
SPOnG
spoke to the lead technical designer on Nuts & Bolts, Neill Harrison, last year and asked him about the similarities between the two games and was told, "People are going to draw comparisons. It's user-generated content and editors and so on and there is a comparison there. But, I think the game is quite different."
He's right, of course. They are very different. In one you're building vehicles, in the other you're building levels. Still, we're sure there are
LBP fans out there who might take umbrage with the assertion that
Banjo's tools can't be matched.
