Eidos and Beautiful Game, the publisher and studio behind Championship Manager, have put a date to the series' 2010 offering. At a press conference held down at Villa Park in Birmingham it was announced that Championship Manager 2010 will be out on September 11th.
Before that, however, a demo will be released on August 14th.
On hand at the event, which is still going on now, are Mervyn Day, ex-Celtic manager Gordon Strachan, former-Charlton manager Alan Curbishley and a surprisingly fit-looking Joe Kinnear. Kinnear, who recently had to step back as manager of Newcastle (Alan Shearer temporarily stepped in) due to heart problems has been offered a new two year contract with the club. He has said that he won't start before December.
Anyway, the game - Tim SPOnG is on hand and reports that the custom 3D match engine is looking good. Roy Meredith, general manager of Championship Manager, noted that other match engines, such as those used in FIFA Manager and Football Manager, are customised from other 3D engines, whereas the CM10 match engine has been built from the ground up.
Expect more on Championship Manager 2010 on SPOnG soon.
