Sega winds down Dreamcast online support
Sega of Japan has announced the first phase of removing the Dreamcast online support in Japan. The company has already stated that it will do the same throughout the rest of the world in the foreseeable future.

The first games to be taken down are Virtua Tennis, Virtua On: Oratoria Tangram and Hanagumi Taisen Columns 2 with more to follow.

It surprises us that Japan has been the first territory to have its online infrastructure dismantled. It was widely expected that the European servers would be the first to go.

A lucky break for European gamers, or simply the fact that we have fewer on-line Dreamcast titles means that decommissioning the Euro servers is a smaller job, which won’t require a phased approach?
