Sega and Nintendo have jointly shown Sonic the Hedgehog in playable form on the Game Boy Advance for the first time at the World Hobby Fair in Japan.
This first version of the game featured two playable stages, parts one and two of New Green Hill Zone.
Sonic has been enhanced somewhat and can now skim across water and grind down poles, skateboard-style, as he does in the Dreamcast games.
It is also worth mentioning that the Game Boy Advance screen copes with the blistering pace of the game very well, with little or no blurring.
Sonic Advance is due for release early in 2002.
