The 'If' remains...

Activision: We Will Support Sony
Activision Blizzard CEO, Bobby Kotick, recently stirred up the nest of politics and intrigue that is the video games industry's executive club by stating Activision might have to stop 'supporting' Sony. CEO of Activision Publishing, Mike Griffith has a more conciliatory tone in a recent interview, even using the words "we will" and "supporting" in reference to the PSP Go.

Griffith: "So we generally publish on all viable platforms. If the new PSP delivers a big userbase we will be supporting it."

And...

"All platforms have to continue to prove themselves. If Sony can deliver a strong userbase and a good following we will be there with games."

Yes, we can see the caveats in terms of userbase 'and' following (we're not sure what the difference is from a revenue point of view). However, where Kotick talks about "attach rates" (the number of games bought per console) as the guideline for maintaining support, Griffiths talks about the number of users. Mixed messages or a good exit strategy from the initial Kotick statement?

You want Sony to give the PS3 a price cut? Make World of Warcraft, Starcraft II or Diablo III, WoW would show best results, for the PS3 and Sony will drop the price so fast it will make your head spin and your neck snap X.x
