With it's US head and former Future Publishing and EA Europe, Virgin Interactive and LucasArts man (phew) Simon Jeffery leaving for iPhone developer and publisher ngmoco, it's changes galore at SEGA.
Mr Naoya Tsurumi, we're told "will assume worldwide responsibility for SEGA’s Consumer Business, incorporating SEGA of Japan, SEGA of America and SEGA of Europe."
Industry veteran, Mike Hayes gets promoted "the newly created position of President & COO of both SEGA of America and SEGA of Europe".
Apparently, rather than a cost-saving exercise conveniently occurring after the departure of Jeffery, "This unified organization will better position SEGA for growth across these key markets,” said Mr. Tsurumi.
The company does have some friendly words for the popular Jeffery, stating that he "led SEGA’s entrance into new gaming markets such as mobile and grew market share in the U.S. as well as the breadth of SEGA."
So, that's good to see. Congrats all round.
