Electronic Arts has confirmed that
Mirror's Edge will get a sequel at some point and that a small team is "on it" already.
Patrick Soderlund, VP of EA Europe, told
videogamer.com, “
Mirror’s Edge was a risky move. It was a bold move, a very innovative and inspiring move. The game wasn’t perfect by any means. We would have liked the game to sell better even though the game has sold better than most people think.”
Soderlund went on, “You will see another
Mirror’s Edge for sure. It’s just a matter of when that time is and what we do with it. We have a small team on it and I’m excited about what we do.”
Details beyond that were not forthcoming. It's likely that the "small team" in question is from DICE, the EA-owned Swedish studio behind the first game in the series, but that remains unconfirmed.
The original managed to generate a fair amount of hype but didn't set the world on fire critically or at retail when it launched last November. For more on the game,
