SquareSoft of Japan has confirmed some of the online detailing that will come with Final Fantasy XI.
The game will support both broadband and analogue modem Internet connections to a minimum of 56K. This has now been finalised on Square’s PlayOnline servers along with the continuing efforts to include as many players simultaneously as is possible.
Square has said that at this point the servers will handle “several hundred thousand people simultaneously.”
Also mentioned by Square were some interesting snippets regarding Final Fantasies XI and XII. The development team has stated that it is in the process of developing tools that will enable a level of compatibility and connectivity between the two games.
