Yesterday's E3 Sony briefing saw SCEA MD, Jack Tretton, introducing what you may have thought was some reasonably large news for the PlayStation 3: an exclusive game from
GTA maker, Rockstar. The thing is that
he introduced it at such speed before moving on to
Assassin's Creed 2, that you might have thought that it was a PSN demo. Maybe this is because it's a little while off...
Whatever it is, Rockstar's Sam Houser wants to explain some more about the game...
"We have always enjoyed making action games, and with Agent we are making what we believe will be the ultimate action game."
As usual, we don't think he means 'ultimate' in the sense that Rockstar is never going to need to make another action game again.
"
Agent is a game we have wanted to make for a long time. The team in Edinburgh is doing an amazing job combining intense action, atmosphere and story in a great period setting to create something that feels quite unique. We cannot wait for people to experience this game."
In case you missed Jack Tretton's description of the game, he said that it will "take a player across the globe amidst a shadowy world of espionage and assassins in the darkest hours of the late 1970s".
Rockstar, for its part, says, "
Agent takes players on a paranoid journey into the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations during the height of the Cold War at the end of the 1970s."
Now you know.
