Following the announcement of Activision Blizzard's financial results for the quarter ending in March, the company has revealed some big numbers for
Guitar Hero and
Call of Duty 4.
Bobby Kotick, the company's president and CEO, noted in a call to analysts that, "The
Guitar Hero franchise in fact this quarter surpassed the $2 billion mark and was only the third franchise in the history of gaming beside
Super Mario and
Madden to ever achieve that milestone."
A host of
Hero Autumn releases were
confirmed yesterday.
Further to that the company's president and CEO of the publishing unit, Michael Griffith, stated that
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has topped 13 million sales worldwide. He further said that expectations are (completely unsurprisingly) high for
Modern Warfare 2, with the teaser trailer having had 5.5 million views, 1.3 million of those having been clocked up in the first 24 hours of its release. The game is
set to launch on November 10th.
