Wii Downloadable Anti-Ageism
Nintendo isn't discriminating over age this week. Today you can download either some brand-spanking-new WiiWare from Square Enix in the form of Rainbow Islands: Towering Adventure, or some matured, new-to-you Virtual Console content going by the name of Fantasy Zone II.

Rainbow Islands: Towering Adventure is a title out of Square's Taito stable. The names of our two heroes might ring a bell - Bubby and Bobby (don't make us spell it out for you). The little rainbow-magic wielders have to climb through the seven sections of a tower that sticks right up into the heavens, battling bosses controlled by Dr. Crescent in each one.

Nintendo tells us, "There are three game modes for this game. You can enjoy the tale of Holly's Comet in Story Mode, Challenge Mode where players attempt to climb as high as they can from 0m, and Time Attack where players select an area and see how fast they can climb it." You can have at it for 800 Nintendo Points.

If you fancy something a bit more retro (quite possibly even more retro than the day of your birth), you can try your hand at SEGA's Fantasy Zone II, originally published on the SEGA Master System. Nintendo tells us, "10 years have passed since Opa-Opa restored peace to the Fantasy Zone. But now history is repeating itself and the Fantasy Zone once again finds itself under attack!

"The mastermind of the Nenon planet forces is secretly constructing a huge fortress in the Fantasy Zone and it's up to Opa-Opa to stop him!"

It'll set you back 500 points.
