The official word is in -
Broken Steel, the latest
Fallout 3 DLC, is now up and running again on Games for Windows.
A
post from Major Nelson tells us, "We’re pleased to say that
Broken Steel is back up on Marketplace and ready for our Windows gamers. For those of you who previously downloaded the file, you need only re-download it on Games for Windows – LIVE Marketplace to receive the new version."
There were
widespread installation issues with the DLC, which
Bethesda blamed on Microsoft DRM.
Microsoft has also addressed the issue relating to Achievements not being added to XBL Gamerscores. We're told that, "If you encounter a similar issue, you need only recover your Gamertag to populate the Achievements you’ve earned, which have already been saved to your console." (Details on how to do that
here).
If you're unsure what you need to be doing to re-download the DLC, follow the instructions from
Bethesda below:
1. Log onto G4WL Client
2. Go to My Media
3. Go to Add-ons
4. Sort by Entire History
5. Click on
Broken Steel6. Remove the content
6. Verify this directory is empty: C:\Documents and Settings\(your windows profile login)\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\GFWLive\Downloads
7. Return to the GFWL client and click on blue arrow to start download
