Reports are emerging of PC gamers being unable to install
Broken Steel, the latest
Fallout 3 DLC from Bethesda.
The reports have cropped up from numerous users on the Bethesda
forum.
The error reads, "Not a cryptographic message or the cryptographic message is not formatted correctly. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8009200D)."
A Bethesda developer responded, "Gathering more materials to report to every one on our side. Never a dull day on DLC release. Also sorry for every one that is having trouble on PC. We are looking into it."
While this is clearly not an isolated issue, it's unclear how widespread it is at this point. So far, issues with the 360 version haven't been reported.
You may remember that the last piece of
Fallout 3 DLC -
The Pitt - was
pulled from Xbox Live shortly after release due to bugs before making a
reappearance a couple of days later.
