Sony Gears up for online PlayStation 2 with security deal
Sony Computer Entertainment has announced a deal with E-security company RSA Security to enable secure communication and data storage for the PlayStation 2.

"Security is one of the most important issues in the networking business," said Shinichi Okamoto, Senior Vice President at Sony. "By adding RSA BSAFE encryption software, one of the best security solutions in the industry, to the PS2 platform, we can provide our customers with a highly secure network for both content distribution and trusted online communication."

The deal will see RSA's BSAFE SSL-C encryption software incorporated into the PS2, which will ensure that no nasty hacker types will be tampering with your web feed and getting up to the monkey business they tend to like to get up to.
