Guerrilla Games would seem to have ruled out the possibility of co-op play coming to
Killzone 2 in the form of DLC.
The latest issue of
Game Informer reportedly carries a quote from Guerilla Managing Director, Hermen Hulst, to the tune of, "We looked at all the different flavours of co-op early on, but decided our first priority would have to be the single-player experience and the multiplayer. Rather than just tack on co-op, it would have to be integrated and done to a similar standard as the single and multiplayer. Having looked at it again now. I do not think we would want to add it as DLC."
So, that's that. In a world where co-op is increasingly demanded by gamers of a trigger-happy persuasion, Sony's flagship shooter will have none.
There is a sliver of good news for
Killzone 2 players who like sticking with their mates, however. Guerrilla said via Twitter a few hours ago that, "We're investigating various possibilities for implementing a party system."
In related news, following rumoury suggesting that Killzone 2's upcoming DLC, Titanium and Steel, will be free, SPOnG was told by Sony yesterday that... it wasn't saying anything just yet. On the upside, there were
new screens to massage our eyeballs with.
