Team Ico Game for the Big Screen

Legend of Chun-Li writer attached

Team Ico's Shadow of the Colossus is set to make it onto the big screen! The game is being brought to life by Sony.

That's the good news. The possibly less-than-good news is that Justin Marks is attached to write it. While Variety credits Marks with having worked on several cool-sounding films such as Green Arrow: Escape From Supermax and the remake of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo (with McG attached to direct), Marks was also the writer on Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. We'll say no more...

The only other name floating around the project is Kevin Misher, who is in negotiations to produce. Stop scratching your head. You know - Kevin Misher, producer of The Scorpion King!

This news might tide us over until Fumito Ueda finally reveals the new Ico game, having said at GDC last month that, "The Japan studio bosses are here so I can’t say anything specific, but it might be something similar to what’s been done. The essence of the game is rather close to Ico."

Beyond that, there's not really much detail to be had. You can get more detail about the just about universally-adored game, however, by reading SPOnG's review here.
