Capcom Vs SNK 2 is shaping up to be one of the best fighters of all time. 2D fighters have always attracted the ‘harder’ core of games fans and the intimidating lines at E3, queuing to play the game, is testament to this.

Capcom has released several new shots of the arcade version of the game that will be ported to PlayStation 2 and possibly the Sega Dreamcast.

Hoamaru is wildly powerful, and this fact annoyed some of the players not familiar with the Samurai Spirits games. One hard slash from him was equivalent to a level one or two super. He is in his guise from Spirits 2, and his super is a multiple Kogetsuzan and is very strong.

New details just released by Capcom explain the massively upgraded groove system deployed in the update to what was originally quite a poor series.

C Groove is represented by Ryu, and is the standard Streetfighter Alpha 3 fighting style

A Groove is represented by Ken and is the Custom Combo Groove, with a two level super bar enabling custom super combos, running, air blocking, guard cancel attacks and rolling.

P Groove is represented by Chun Li for the SFIII style with parries. Only Level 3 super combos can be excecuted and parries can be done high, low or in air. Also included are dashing, small jumps and delayed get ups.

S Groove is represented by Kyo, and is the original KOF95 style. Characters in this groove must charge up the power meter by holding fierce punch and fierce kick simultaneously. The energy flashes when 15% strength remains. Characters can also dodge attacks using light punch and light kick.

N Groove is represented by Terry for the KOF Advanced Mode. This groove can hold 3 levels of super combos. Features include run, roll, small jumps, guard and cancel attacks and evasion. Rolling get ups are also enabled.

K Groove is represented by Haomaru and is the Samurai Spirits Mode. The power gauge goes up when the characters are hit until they enter the Rage Mode when the meter is full. The damage sustained by the opponent can be increased by up to thirty five percent. Characters also can perform Level 3 super combos. Other features include Just Defense as in Garou, running, small jumps and down rolling.
