This week's UK Games Charts are in, with Capcom's
Resident Evil 5 still sitting pretty at the top. It manages that feat despite a 51% drop in sales.
Having now finished its third week of sale,
RE5 has equalled
RE3 as the series' longest resident (excuse the disgustingly bad pun) at Number 1.
The ever-resilient
Wii Fit is, once again, at Number 2. Nintendo no longer holds the third spot as it did last week, however.
Professor Layton has dropped off a place to Number 4, with
Street Fighter IV (still benefiting from price promotion) now occupying Number 3.
Layton has, however, managed to stay ahead of THQ's
WWE Legends of Wrestlemania. The retro smackdown has dropped one place to Number 5.
A handful of older titles have done good business across the bottom half of the Top 10. EA's
FIFA 09 and Activision Blizzard's
Call of Duty: World at War are both up three places to Numbers 6 and 7 respectively. What you might find more surprising is
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare leaping up from Number 15 to Number 9. The last time CoD4 was in the Top 10 was waaaaaayyy back in Week 23 of 2008. The
announcement of its sequel's release date last week can't have hurt...
That leaves
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars to sit between two
CoD titles, with the DS exclusive down two places to Number 8.
The rest of the Top 40 gets two re-entries. Konami's
Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 is at 22 thanks to the release of the Wii version, while EA's
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 makes an appearance at Number 25 thanks to its PS3 release.
Next week, look out for
Ninja Blade and
Wanted: Weapons of Fate.
