The PC release of
Braid has been delayed, but don't panic!
The delay is only 10 days, putting it back from March 31st to April 10th.
According to a blog
posting by the game's creator, Jonathan Blow, "The delay is just to fix some problems that came up in testing with various versions of Windows."
Blow was, frankly, a little pessimistic about
Braid's performance with Windows. "So, sorry for the delay", he wrote. "I know folks have been waiting a long time for the PC version and it’s not so great to have to wait an extra 10 days, but it’s only so that I can try to ship you guys a version that works well (which frankly is impossible in Windows, but the best I can do is make it work for most people most of the time)."
He did, however, say that "we have a special surprise planned concerning the music in
Braid."
Braid will be released via Steam, Greenhouse, Impulse, and GamersGate, with another couple of (unnamed) sites possibly set to join them.
Braid, as well as having been a huge critical success, was in the
Top 3 Xbox Live Arcade titles last year.
