At a recent strategy meeting in Tokyo, Sega of Japan mentioned that it is developing the Naomi 3 arcade system. This comes as a surprise to many as the Naomi 2 system has still not been seen in the arcades.
The new system has been described by Sega as being “Advanced Network Arcade System” and will be part of the new global arcade scene that is poised to revolutionise public gaming.
Capcom, Namco, Konami and now Sega have all made reference to cross-title, cross -platform remote gaming to some degree or other. The arcade scene may yet see a re-emergence to again lead the way in the games world.
