Sony's incredibly successful PlayStation 2 is now entering its tenth year on sale. Although it was first announced to the world in April of 1999, it didn't actually go on sale in Japan until eleven months later in March of 2000.
Entering its 10th year of sale now, it remains a money earner for Sony Computer Entertainment, and its parent company. Entering emerging markets
such as India, it continues to perform solidly in terms of reaping revenue.
So, happy birthday to you, PS2. We sure that Kaz Hirai is bringing cake and learning valuable
lessons from your 10 year lifecycle.
We'd also imagine that 'Father of PlayStation', Ken Kutaragi is smiling beatifically to himself.
