Nintendo: DS has 'Unlimited Potential'

So, it can compete with iPods?

Nintendo UK general manager, David Yarnton, has been continuing to speak about just how the new DSi can and will rule the world - if not the universe. Last week he was trying to get the new 'gadget' into every home in the United Kingdom. This week, well, we'll let him tell you:

"With the DSi we see multiple consumer types for it. As with everything now, we look at our target market being five to 85, offering different things for different people", he tells Casual Gaming.biz.

"The functions of the device really open the platform up to more consumers – it gives the DS format unlimited potential", he continues.

Unlimited potential? There's nothing wrong with ambition. Especially if your product is selling everything else into the gutter. But maybe David should calm himself. After all, his boss - Mr Iwata himself - can't see the device competing with iPods or mobile phones.

Correction Nintendo. DSi is limited, even when compared to iphone, which is reasonably open to homebrew aps, games etc. When the DSi is the same, will be when the cows come home, on a burger bun. Games on DS are cool, but there's also a lot of crap.
