Japan votes on all time favourite Sega tunes: Oh my god!

A few weeks back we brought you news that Sega of Japan is about to release a CD of some of its game music from the past twenty or so years. The idea is that Sega devotees in Japan get to vote online to tell the company which is their favourite ever Sega tune. A great idea right?

Well, the first lot of voting is in and though not final until 8th of June it seems that the Japanese gamer has somewhat strange taste in music. No, being honest it is dire. Read on:

1. Crave For Ride - F355 Challenge - 4.30%
2. Scarlatto - F355 Challenge - 4.00%
3. Magical Sound Shower - Outrun - 3.86%
4. Dream Dreams (kids version) - NiGHTS - 3.85%
5. Sakura Wars 3 Theme - Sakura Wars 3 - 2.87%
6. Sona Mi Arero Ec Sancitu - Panzer Dragoon Saga - 1.78%
7. Sakura Wars 2 Theme - Sakura Wars 1 - 1.73%
8. Burning Hearts - Burning Rangers - 1.58%
9. Main Theme - Space Harrier - 1.33%
10. Splash Wave - Outrun - 1.19%

OK, some of the Outrun tracks are classics but that doesn’t excuse the fact that the two most voted tracks are from Ferrari 355 Challenge the music for which is, quite frankly, crap!
