Activision is remaining coy on just which developer the future of the
Tony Hawk franchise lies with.
Asked who will be taking the development reins now that Neversoft is focusing its attention elsewhere, an Activision representative told SPOnG, "I'm afraid we're still unable to provide anything further on this".
It was confirmed earlier in the week that Neversoft, the developer that established the
Tony Hawk franchise, will
no longer be working on the series. Faced with competition from EA's
skate. the
Tony Hawk brand has been viewed as stagnant by many and Joel Jewett, co-founder of Neversoft, has acknowledged that it will benefit from new blood.
The most likely bet at the moment as the new team behind
Tony Hawk is start-up Chicago company Robomodo, which states on its website, "We are currently working on a high-profile extreme sports title for Activision Blizzard".
