Xbox 360-based DownLoadable Content (DLC) is the contentious subject of the day today. First, Crystal Dynamics' Eric Lindstrom has apparently stated that the 360-exclusive DLC for
Tomb Raider Underworld was - in part - cut from the original game (more on that in a later story, we are a giving Eidos a moment for its response). Now Microsoft is asking users to delete
Midnight Club DLC.
A posting on Graeme Boyd's (aka Aceybongo) blog sends out the message. Who is Graeme? Why he's the Community Manager, Xbox EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Asia). Here's what he has to say:
"
Midnight Club 3: LA Marketplace Content - Don't Download It Or Delete it If You Have!
"The Marketplace team has mentioned to me that a batch of
Midnight Club: LA content went up accidentally on Xbox LIVE Marketplace this morning. It has since been removed, but you may have had the chance to download it while it was up there.
"If you did and if it's sitting on your hard drive you should delete it - reason being that it was being tested when it was mistakenly put live and therefore it may not work properly, the Achievements won't register and could cause you problems with your
Midnight Club: LA game saves.
Sorry for the mistake and sorry for the hassle, but if you did download the content best thing to do is delete it. I'll let you know when it's up for real!"
Let's hope the same sort of hassle doesn't occur when the next Rockstar game's DLC appears for Xbox 360. Anybody remember
GTA IV?
It's apparently due soon...
