Killzone 2 Death Opera

New video here!

Posted by Staff
Sony, bless its cotton socks, has sent forth a new video for Killzone 2 featuring a lovely dance of death.

Well, we say dance, but it's set against the haunting warbling of The Flower Duet from the opera Lakme, composed by Delibes. That's opera, an art form not overly suffused with dance. Still, the trailer features folk flailing around in slow motion as they get thoroughly killed in a manner reminiscent of a death dance aimed at the poncey performing arts crowd. Sony actually calls it 'Hit Response Trailer' in a manner that belies its haunting majesty.

Whatever. Just watch the trailer below. It doesn't look very grey.

I watched this game being played on tv gameshow on Sky it didnt look anything special nor did it do anything different from any other shooter however it does look far more enjoyable that Gears of war thats for sure.

Oh come on. The list of games one can't be negative about without someone:

* Saying that you are a 'hater' or a 'hatter'.
* Threatening to 'bust you upside your cracker face, homes'.
* Stating that they have f**ked at least one member of your immediate family.
* Using the term "People, nothing to see here".

includes both Killzone 2 and Gears of War 2.

Jeez, didn't you receive this year's 'Guild of Mindless Fanboy Handbook'?

Believe it or not, people at Microsoft don't seem to want to respond too much about it. The fact that's it's slipped appears to be slightly embarrassing somehow.

KZ2, in terms of bringing something new or different to the FPS arena, isn't "special". To be blunt I haven't seen an FPS bring anything new since, erm, prolly Half-Life - a decade ago. That's not a bad thing tho. The gameplay is rock solid and immersive, which more than can be said for many shooters.

Further more, it does look bloody marvellous, which is something I don't think will be well translated via shaky handcam (or even a video feed), then bounced around Sky's MPEG-to-hell-o-vision satellites. Even on Sky HD (you might have heard of it - it's great for watching sports) I doubt it would look as good as seeing the game in the, er... plastic/metal/plasma/LCD.
